Today our Hunslet and Pudsey learning centres are the first to become Think Employment, as part of the company-wide rebrand.
For more than a decade In2wrk have focused on helping people improve their numeracy, literacy and digital knowledge so they stand a better chance of finding a career they want. But earlier this year we started thinking much bigger.
After we were awarded a direct contract from the ESFA, we’ve been able to choose from a huge number of practical pre-employment training courses that meet the needs of both local people and employers.
Soon we realised that this kind of training is very popular with local learners, organisations and employers because the training packages provide skills and qualifications needed for local job opportunities.
Richard Hallam, our company’s Managing Director, is really excited about the positive effect these new courses will have on the local community.
“We’re now in a position to talk to learners, employers and our partners and ask what kind of training they need. If there’s enough demand for it, we’ll be able to put on a workshop for them. We’ve never been able to do that before,” Richard explained.
“So far it’s enabled us to deliver FLT, Warehousing and Call Centre training, but we’re also planning courses on Business Administration, Customer Service and Hospitality in the very near future.”
“We think is great news for everyone in the local community.”
Also in the pipeline are apprenticeships under the new standards, starting with the Digital Marketing apprenticeship next month and later in the year, Software Development.
Now that we deliver far more than just English, maths and IT courses, we wanted a new name that represented the direction we’re going as an organisation.
And as we’re offering training that helps people get a new career, we thought that Think Employment ticked all the boxes!
We’ll still offer English, maths and IT courses though. They will always remain essential skills and qualifications needed to improve people’s career options.
But now we’re thinking bigger…and we just wanted you to know.
