A Level 2 Functional Skills qualification is equal to a GCSE (grade A*-C), O-Level (grade A-C), CSE (grade 1), intermediate apprenticeship, Level 2 award, certificate, diploma, ESOL, essential skills, national certificate, national diploma and NVQ.
Our English courses are all through learndirect, the largest provider of skills training in the country. For well over a decade, we’ve combined their quality online material and our experienced Tutors to help thousands of people enhance their literacy skills and take the next step in their careers.
When the course has been completed, learners who pass Functional Skills English Level 2 will receive a City & Guilds qualification which is hugely desirable to employers
Anyone who is awarded an English qualification at Level 2 can display knowledge in the subject, from reading and writing to speaking and listening. They’ll be able to understand spelling, learn how to communicate effectively and really grasp grammar. These literacy skills will help the learner be proficient in many everyday tasks such as writing letters, reading an online news story or speaking formally in a professional situation.
Also, having a Level 2 qualification can lead to alternative career pathways, as many employers ask for English Level 2 as a minimum requirement on job applications. For example, if you want to become a primary or secondary level teacher, you need to have passed your Level 2 in English!
