Do you want to work with children or vulnerable adults? We can offer you a Standard DBS Check for free through our Employment Pathways programme.
The Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) – which replaced the Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) – helps employers make safer recruitment decisions and prevent unsuitable people from working with vulnerable groups, including children.
It’s a prerequisite for teachers, social workers, childminders, foster carers and medical professionals. So if you’re looking for a role in a school, hospital or children’s home, having an up-to-date DBS on your CV could make the difference between getting and interview or not.
On completion of our Standard DBS course, you will receive a fully up-to-date DBS certificate.
Having a DBS certificate can be a massive advantage when it comes to applying for jobs. It is a requirement for all jobs that require you to work with children and vulnerable adults.
So if you’re looking to start a career in this area we can help you take the first step with our free Standard DBS Check, saving you money along the way as you will not have to pay for the certificate yourself.
How to claim?
We can offer the Standard DBS certificate free of charge, but first you must complete the suggested free educational programmes in English, maths and/or IT.
Providing you haven’t already achieved Level 2 qualifications in these subjects and you pass our eligibility criteria, we can help give your CV a boost where it needs it most. Once you have completed your qualifications you can then progress onto the Standard DBS Check.
Am I eligible?
You are eligible for the Standard DBS if:
– You are 19 years old or older as of 31st August
-You are in receipts of benefits and looking for work
-You have lived within the EU for a minimum of three years
