Throughout March we have been delivering free Forklift Licence training in our Doncaster learning centre. The training is to help unemployed people in Doncaster gain valuable work-based skills and qualifications.
Since 5th March, we have delivered two free Forklift Licence courses. Each of these workshops has lasted three weeks and learners have had the opportunity to achieve four qualifications. As well as a much sought after Forklift Licence.
The Forklift Licence training package included Level 1 qualifications in Warehousing & Storage, Customer Service, Social Media for Employment Opportunities and Job Search and Digital Skills for the 21st Century.
The first two weeks of the course are classroom-based, which gave tutor Naidine Palmer, the chance to utilise her teaching skills.
“It’s been great to use my teaching qualifications for stand up delivery and to apply all my theoretical knowledge and put classroom strategies into practice,” Naidine told us.
During the two-weeks of classroom-based learning, the learners achieved four valuable qualifications that will boost their CVs and improve their job prospects. Naidine was very pleased with how the learners progressed.
“Our learners have given positive feedback regarding the delivery and structure of the course and we are excited to see what the next course brings to the people in Doncaster.”
The learners completed the two-weeks in the centre and then completed the third-week doing practical Forklift training in order to achieve their free licence.
“Learners are leaving feeling they have achieved something they can use to gain employment.”
