We’ve recently introduced a new course for unemployed people in Wolverhampton. Our free Entry Level IT course is designed to help jobseekers gain the digital skills they need to help with Universal Credit applications and searching for jobs online.

The Entry Level IT training is part of our growing range of free courses. To further help local people with the digital skills gap, we decided to put together this course.

This training includes valuable qualifications which are centred around improving digital skills. Learners will gain Level 1 and Level 2 IT qualifications (depending on ability) as well as Entry Level 3 Award in Digital Skills for Pre-Employment.

On the course, learners will cover a range of topics from computer and internet basics to using social media to find jobs and understanding and applying for Universal Credit to writing a CV.

We spoke to a couple of learners who are currently on this course to find out what they have found helpful so far.

“The computer course is very useful. I have learnt a lot about the internet thanks to my tutor,” Michael Taylor told us.

“The course is very useful for beginners. It really helps and the course is very helpful in understanding computers,” Phillip Clarke said.

“I have also found the course very informative. The e-mail element has been especially useful,” Nigel Wakeman agreed.
