The care sector is worth around £15.9 billion a year in the UK and there is said to be around 11,300 care home for the elderly. As the population continues to age there will be an increase in demand for care homes. But there are other types of care across the UK such as disability care. In such a growing, demanding sector it is key you have the right qualifications to get the job you want.
But how do you get the skills employers are looking for? We can help you with that! Our new Care training programme is designed to provide you with the key skills and qualifications that you need for a job in the Care industry.

Introduction to Adult Social Care
This qualification develops a basic knowledge of the adult social care industry. It covers the different type of job roles available and the different services that are provided. With this qualification, you’ll be able to prove to employers that you have an understanding of Adult Social Care.
Knowing how to speak to customers the right way is a vital skill. With this qualification, you’ll understand how to deal with different types of customers Aswell as how to face challenging situations and develop relationships with your customers. Working in Care requires excellent communication skills so having good customer service is a necessity.
Employment Rights and Responsibilities in Health and Social Care
This qualification will provide you with the essential knowledge of employment responsibilities and the rights of individuals working in a range of roles within the Care industry. Having an awareness of yours and others employment rights and responsibilities in the workplace is a huge benefit in such demanding roles.
First Aid Training
Having First Aid training is a key skill to have within the Care industry. Within this sector, you will work with a number of vulnerable people from the elderly to the disabled. Being able to prove that you have First Aid training will show employers that you are committed to the role and adhere to safety procedures.
IT (Level 1 or 2)
Poor IT skills can put employers off. With 90% of all jobs requiring at least basic IT skills, it is important that you make sure your IT is up to scratch. Depending on your existing level, you can either get to grips with online basics such as the internet, email and common software at Level 1 or you can master more advanced elements and Microsoft software at Level 2.
Who can do this training
To be eligible for this course, or any of our pre-employment training workshops, the following statements must apply:
– Unemployed and claiming a work-related benefit such as Jobseeker’s Allowance (JSA), Employment Support Allowance (ESA) or Universal Credit (UC)
– Lived in the UK or EU for the last three consecutive years. So since April 2015 at least
– 19 years old or over as of August 31st, 2017
