The Role:We are looking for an internal moderator for our Employability and Social Media Qualifications. This role also includes some administration tasks, as you will be working directly for our Head of Funded Learning.
We are looking for someone to carry out the following duties:

  • Understand the Employability Process
  • Understand the marking process
  • Internally moderate all test papers
  • Send to OCR and monitor achievements
  • Gain feedback from Awarding body and work with Head of Funded Learning to implement areas of best practice
  • Travel to centres and carry out Audit spot checks to ensure correct completion of booklets
  • Attendance at training sessions as required
  • Arrange meetings and training
  • Collate and maintain accurate data/information
  • Maintain accurate files
  • Create reports
  • Work closely with the Head of Funding Learning
  • Any other ad hoc tasks as required
  • There may be the occasional overnight stay

 

The successful candidate:

 

  • MUST hold an assessor qualification
  • Have PTLLS or equivalent teaching qualification
  • Must have previous experience of moderating
  • Must be an excellent communicator as you will be giving lots of feedback to all levels of the team
  • Must be well organized and flexible
  • Be able to prepare reports for management and lead tutors
  • Have excellent administration skills
  • Must be able to take accurate notes in meetings

PROFILE: You will have previous experience of tutoring Functional Skills in maths and English. This experience would preferably come from working within the learndirect network, but we will consider other candidates who can clearly demonstrate the appropriate skills and attributes. Some knowledge of the subjects we deliver and the e-learning environment again would be useful, but not mandatory. Relevant teaching or adult learning support qualifications PTLLS or above ideally with a specialism in Literacy or Numeracy would be beneficial, but training will be given and all tutors are actively encouraged to take the appropriate qualifications for the role. You need to be well organised, confident, have a great personality and the ability to communicate effectively with learners, staff and partner organisations. You will be an excellent team player, participating in local team meetings and regional training events. You may also be involved in our e-assessment contract.

MAIN DUTIES:
